Membership at Maker Works

Maker Works is a nonprofit makerspace located at 3765 Plaza Dr, Ann Arbor MI. We are always open to new members, new students, and anyone looking to get a close-up look at tools that most people don’t encounter in their day-to-day life.

Here’s how to get started in 3 steps:

Step 1: Tour

Drop in anytime or sign up online.

Step 2: Training

Take tool training classes — no membership or experience required. Learn by doing.

Step 3: Membership

Use the shop independently. Make what you want to make. If you get stuck on a project, ask staff!

How does it work?

With membership, use any tool in the space — just take a safety class first if it’s required. One regular membership gets you access to all areas of the shop: wood, metal, craft, jewelry, and electronics.
Many tools are available to use right away. For tools that require a reservation, you can book a 2-hour block. When your time’s up, check the calendar to see if anyone’s waiting — if not, stay longer!
Bring your own materials! Need a place to keep them? See our storage options.

Use the space however it works for you: for personal projects, creative collaborations, or just a positive place to get things done.

10-Visit Punch Card

$300 for 10 visits

Great for those who don't know how often they might be in - you can always upgrade!

Day Pass

$45 per day

Access to all machines, tools, and areas*
Valid for one full day during regular open hours
Perfect for one-time projects or trying us out
Upgrade to any other membership later by paying the difference

* Some tools require completion of a class before use.
Storage available for additional cost (members only).

We do not currently support online membership purchasing. If you’d like to buy membership, come in to the shop! If it’s your first time in, sign up for a free tour.
