Community Partnership Program

Are you looking to use the resources at the shop to help someone out?

Maker Works Community Workshops provides access to its facilities at a ‘pay what you can’ rate in certain circumstances. This can include our classes and membership.

Pictured are examples of activities that members of the shop have worked on at a free or reduced cost.

  • Survivor’s Speak building Buddy Benches for a local elementary school

  • Sensory Chairs for WISD and other organizations

  • Building furniture for individuals within foster care

  • Bookshelves for the Our House Mosaic Program

  • Custom adaptive solutions for learning

  • Adapting toys for kids who have visual impairments, motor limitations or cognitive limitations

You are not limited to what you see above. We’d love to see activities that:

  • Help grow small businesses, especially in areas of lower economic mobility

  • Increase the diversity in making

  • Assist populations coming out of difficult situations

  • Reduce our community’s impact on the environment

You’re not limited to ‘making things’. There’s a lot to learn at our shop that can be applied to job training, education, and mental health. This program helps you access our classes, tools, and space at a price point that works for you. It will be up to you to champion the activity!
