In this class you will learn the safety and basic operation of both the Smith “Little Torch”
oxy-acetylene system, and the auto-ignition propane torch. With these two torches, you’ll be able to solder, braze (“silver soldering”), anneal, and melt jewelry metals. We will cover annealing, melting, and basic silver soldering technique in the class.
Use these torches in support of:
Dinkel rolling mill (annealing copper, silver, gold, etc.)
investment casting (melting metal)
jewelry assembly (silver soldering)
People ages 13-15 may take this tool checkout class with their parent/guardian (both adult and minor must register and pay). A parent/guardian who has taken the checkout class must also accompany them when operating the tool. Ages 16 and up are encouraged to take checkout classes in any area they wish, with parent/guardian approval.
